A surrounding net with the central bunt in the form of a spoon and two lateral wings, making it possible to retain the shoal of fish when the two wings are hauled up at the same time. The ring net type is shaped more like a purse seine and most often fitted with bridles to help pull in the leadline. These nets are generally operated by a simple boat, relatively small.
