(1788–1824) an English writer of ↑ romantic and ↑ satirical poetry, best known for poems such as Childe Harold's Pilgrimage and Don Juan . He is also remembered for his romantic life which included many famous love affairs and for his death of fever in Greece while fighting against the Turks for Greek independence.
