a war in the Falkland Islands between the UK and Argentina in 1982. The war started when Argentina sent soldiers to take control of the Falklands from the UK. The British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, sent a ↑ task force of ships and aircraft to the islands, which took control of them again.
