the main character in British writer J.K. Rowling's very popular books. Harry Potter is a young boy who discovers that he is a ↑ wizard (=a man who has magical powers) . He is known for wearing round glasses. In the books, such as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , he learns about magic and fights against evil wizards. Six out of the seven books have been made into successful films.
