a US TV programme which was broadcast for several years until it ended in 2004. It was especially popular with young women. The main characters were a group of four women friends who live in New York City. It was known especially for the fact that the women talked about their sexual relationships in a very open way. It was also made into a film Sex and the City: The Movie (2008).
