PORTRAIT MODE

1. In facsimile , the mode of scanning lines across the shorter dimension of a rectangular original. ( 188 ) Note: CCITT Group 1, 2, and 3 facsimile machines use portrait mode. 2. In computer graphics , the orientation of an image in which the shorter dimension of the image is horizontal. 3. An orientation of printed text on a page such that the lines of text are perpendicular to the long dimension of the page.
