CURSES

(n.) A library of routines that enable the developer to write screen management programs on the SunOSTM system. The routines are C functions and macros. Many of them resemble routines in the standard C library. The name "curses" comes from the cursor optimization that this library of routines provides. Cursor optimization minimizes the amount a cursor has to move around the screen to update it.
