IMMEDIATE MODE

(n.) A method for handling graphical data wherein the graphics library does not retain any copy of the data belonging to the picture on the graphics display. The application is responsible for storing (or regenerating) the data, in contrast to the display list method, in which the graphics library retains its own copy of the graphical data.
