The TH2 response involves the TH2 subset of CD4 cells that secrete IL-4 and IL-10, and which enhance humoral immune response (antibody production) and inhibit TH1 activity and cell-mediated immune response. TH2 activity is most effective against microorganisms that are free-floating in the bloodstream (e.g., cell-free HIV).
