dynastic family that, by shrewd intermarriage and diplomacy, dominated the Japanese imperial government from the 9th to the 12th century. Additional reading A complete translation of the Okagami (Great Mirror), written by an unknown author in the 11th century and covering the period from 850 to 1025, the period of Fujiwara domination, is now available: Joseph K.
