PARANTHROPUS

fossil hominid genus initially assigned by Robert Broom to a robust form of australopithecine found at Kromdraai and Swartkrans, S.Af. The remains are known as Australopithecus robustus to scholars who do not consider it a separate genus from other australopithecines.
