TRES LAGOAS

city, east central Mato Grosso do Sul state, south central Brazil, at the confluence of the Sucuri and Paran rivers, at 1,030 ft (313 m) above sea level. A cattle-shipping and meat-packing centre, Trs Lagoas is on the So PauloCorumb Railroad and is linked by road to Paranaba and other towns in Mato Grosso do Sul. In 1982 operations began to produce ferromanganese and silicomanganese from Urucum deposits. Pop. (1980 prelim.) 45,171.
