TUBE WORM

any of a number of tube-dwelling marine worms belonging to the annelid class Polychaeta (see polychaete; feather-duster worm; tentacle worm). Other tube-dwelling worms include the horseshoe worm (q.v.; phylum Phoronida) and the beardworm (q.v.; phylum Pogonophora).
