Meaning of HALL OF FAME in English

( in the US ) a group of people who have been chosen for their special achievements in a particular activity or profession, especially sport or music. New members of such groups are usually honoured at a ceremony after being chosen by special judges or by the public. Some Halls of Fame have their own museums, like the Baseball Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The original Hall of Fame was a building opened in 1900 in New York to honour famous Americans.
