a former US basketball player with the Chicago Bulls team, thought to be the richest athlete in the world. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the National Basketball Association four times (1988, 1991–2 and 1996) and was the only player to have scored the most points in a season eight times (1987–93 and 1996). Jordan was in US Olympic basketball teams that won gold medals in 1984 and 1992. He changed to playing baseball for two years in the early 1990s, retired in 1999, is president of the Washington Wizards and came out of retirement to play for them in 2001.
