LONDON ASSEMBLY

a group of people forming part of the local government of London, elected by the people of London every four years, at the same time as the Mayor of London . The Assembly is made up of 25 members. 14 of them are directly elected to represent constituencies and 11 are elected to represent all of London, using a form of proportional representation . They examine the Mayor’s activities and policies, and question him about his decisions. They are also able to investigate other issues of importance to Londoners , and make proposals to the Mayor.
