REPURIFIED WATER

Meaning of REPURIFIED WATER in English

Denotes reclaimed or recycled wastewater that is treated far beyond the most stringent standards current in force and then remixed with fresh water to augment existing water supplies. Typically, such waters would undergo extensive Tertiary Wastewater Treatment and then be stored in a reservoir (say, for up to one year), subsequently blended with fresh water supplies and then undergo further disinfection through conventional drinking water treatment before being distributed to municipal water users.
