WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

A facility that receives wastewaters ( and sometimes runoff) from domestic and/or industrial sources, and by a combination of physical, chemical, and biological processes reduces (treats) the wastewaters to less harmful byproducts; known by the acronyms , STP (sewage treatment plant), and POTW (publicly owned treatment works).
