In the absence of environmental variations, the catch (or yield) taken during a year from a fish stock, leaving such stock, at the end of the year, at the same size it had at the beginning (i.e. the stock is in equilibrium with fishing). It varies with the level of fishing. Also referred to as Sustainable yield, Equilibrium yield.
