Platt Amendment (1901), which had restricted the national sovereignty of Cuba, and withdrew its Marines from Haiti. U.S. anticommunist policies after World War II led to renewed distrust between the U.S. and Latin America and brought an end to the noninterventionism of the Good Neighbour Policy.
