Meaning of TOCANTINS RIVER in English

River, east-central and northeastern Brazil.

It rises in several headstreams, including the Paraná River , and flows north and west to join the Araguaia River . It again turns north and flows into the Pará River after a course of 1,677 mi (2,699 km). Frequently interrupted by rapids and waterfalls, it is mainly unnavigable.
