FINISTERRE RANGE

mountain range at the base of the Huon Peninsula, northeastern Papua New Guinea. It comprises a section of the northern boundary of the great Central Depression. Tributaries rising in this range feed the Markham and Ramu rivers, which flow in opposite directions through the depression. The Finisterre Range reaches an elevation of 13,648 feet (4,160 m).
