SLIPPER FLOWER

also called pocketbook flower, slipperwort, or pouch flower (genus Calceolaria) any of about 500 species of flowering plants native from Mexico to South America and named for their flowers' pouchlike shape. Many large-flowered and showy varieties of slipper flower exist in the florist trade. The flowers are usually yellow or purple with contrasting spots.
