the most famous national cemetery in the US. It contains the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the grave of President John F Kennedy . More than 160 000 Americans who were killed in wars, as well as politicians and other well-known people, are also buried there. It is in Arlington, Virginia, outside Washington, DC, and was begun in 1864. In 1997 a Women in Military Service for America Memorial was put up at the entrance to the cemetery.
