a major international golf contest held each year in Augusta, Georgia . It was established in 1934 by Bobby Jones and is the only one of the four major golf tournaments (= sports competitions) that is always held on the same course. The winner receives a special green jacket as well as money. The most frequent winner has been Jack Nicklaus with six victories.
