Meaning of SUN in English

a British tabloid newspaper, published every day except Sunday. It is owned by Rupert Murdoch and is well known for its page-three girls and its stories about scandals (= things that people have done that are considered wrong and shocking). It expresses right-wing opinions and has been the best-selling daily newspaper in Britain since the 1970s. The phrase Sun readers is sometimes used to refer to British people with little education who hold right-wing opinions and prejudices about women and people from other countries.
