(Biology) In testing chemical substances for their Bioconcentration Potential in fish, the situation in which the amount of chemical substance taken into the test fish from the water is equal to the amount being eliminated from the test fish. If the substance bioconcentrates in the fish, the steady-state condition will follow an uptake phase in which the absorbance rate exceeds the elimination rate.
