TRASH FISH

1. Discarded fish. 2. Fish with little or no commercial value and not sorted by species before landing. Usually part of the trawlers’ by-catch. In the Gulf of Thailand, trash fish is used for aquaculture. It can also be used for fishmeal production. In many developing countries (e.g. China, India) it is used extensively for human consumption.
