a NUCLEAR POWER and NUCLEAR REPROCESSING station in Cumbria, northwest England, formerly called ‘Windscale’. Sellafield produces electricity, and also treats waste from nuclear ↑ fuel so that it can be used again. Some people believe that workers at Sellafield and people who live nearby are more at risk of developing ↑ cancer than other people.
