Meaning of ARCH in English


curved part of the body, especially under the foot

aortic arch = bend in the aorta which links the ascending aorta to the descending

deep plantar arch = curved artery crossing the sole of the foot

palmar arch = one of two arches in the palm of the hand, formed by two arteries which link together

longitudinal arch or plantar arch = curved part of the sole of the foot running along the length of the foot

metatarsal arch or transverse arch = arched part of the sole of the foot, running across the sole of the foot from side to side

zygomatic arch = ridge of bone across the temporal bone, running between the ear and the bottom of the eye socket

fallen arches = condition where the arches in the sole of the foot are not high
