BOONIE CHICKEN

Meaning of BOONIE CHICKEN in English

n. A theoretical creature found in parts of North America which are considered to be extremely rural. Boonie Chickens are thought to have originated as free-range chickens during late 1800s. Boonie chickens, unlike domesticated or even wild chickens, had to develop a mean streak in order to survive in the rugged untamed wilderness. Colonial creatures, they hunt in packs and, unlike conventional chickens, have sophisticated fighting methods and an uncanny knowledge of human technology (born from close ties to humanity in their origin). They are known to come in Greater and Lesser varieties. Example: Help, help, I'm being attacked by a boonie chicken.
