DUST VEIL (VOLCANIC)

Volcanic eruptions can inject vast quantities of ash, dust, and sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere. Only the smallest particles will remain in the atmosphere for longer than a few weeks. These fine particles can serve as the condensation nuclei for the formation of sulfate aerosols.
