River, rising in the Blue Ridge in northeastern Georgia and flowing through southeastern Tennessee, U.S. In northern Georgia it is called the Toccoa River; at the Blue Ridge Dam its waters form Blue Ridge Lake.
Three other dams on the river are all in Tennessee. The four dams are run by the Tennessee Valley Authority . The river is about 70 mi (115 km) long.
