CROWN AGENT

a member of an organization, started in 1833 by the British government, which provides financial and commercial services for foreign governments and international organizations. Crown agents are professional people appointed by the government. Their full official title is Crown Agents for Overseas Governments and Administrations, which in 1997 became a private company as part of the Crown Agents Foundation.
