Meaning of EDWARD I in English

(1239–1307)

the king of England from 1272 to 1307, the oldest son of Henry III . He spent a lot of time trying to control Wales and Scotland, fighting, among others, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce . As a result he was called the ‘Hammer of the Scots’. In 1296 he brought the Stone of Scone to England.
