an English businessman who owned several newspapers, including the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail . His brother was Lord Northcliffe . His grandson, the third Lord Rothermere (born Vere Harold Esmond Harmsworth, 1925–1998), took over the Daily Mail from his father in 1971 and also owned the Mail on Sunday and Evening Standard .
