a US director, producer and writer of films. His films have been very successful but sometimes criticized for containing too much violence. They include Platoon (1986), Born on the Fourth of July (1989) for which he won an Oscar as Best Director, The Doors (1991), JFK (1991), Natural Born Killers (1994) and Nixon (1995).
II . Sharon Stone
(1958– )
a US film actor who had her first major success as an attractive but dangerous woman in Basic Instinct (1992). Her other films include Total Recall (1990), Casino (1995), Diabolique (1996), Sphere (1998) and Catwoman (2004).
