The main character, Alf Garnett , is not well educated and has extreme right-wing opinions, especially about black people and foreigners living in Britain. He argues all the time with his wife, his daughter and her husband, who all make fun of him. A US television series based on Till Death Us Do Part , called All in the Family , was broadcast on CBS in the 1970s and 1980s.
