MASS CURVE

A graph of the cumulative values of a hydrologic quantity (such as precipitation or runoff), generally as the Ordinate (y-axis), plotted against time or date as the Abscissa (x-axis). Mass curves may also be used to show the excavated or filled material per unit of distance for a canal or other earth structure.
