TERMINAL ENDPOINT (TE) FUNCTIONAL GROUP

A functional group that includes functions broadly belonging to Layer 1 and higher layers of the CCITT Recommendation X.200 Reference Model. ( 188 ) Note 1: The functions of a TE functional group are performed on various types of equipment, or combinations of equipment, such as digital telephones, data terminal equipment , and/or integrated work stations. Note 2: Examples of TE functions are protocol -handling, maintenance , interface , and connection functions.
