(n.) An image-processing operation in which the value of a point (or pixel) in the destination image depends only on one corresponding point in the source image or images. For example, to add two source images to produce a destination image, the value of the pixel in the upper left corner of the destination image depends solely on the values of the pixels in the upper left corner of the two source images.
