All other Dravidian languages are spoken in peninsular India; Brahui's isolation from the other languages of the family has resulted in heavy borrowing from surrounding non-Dravidian languages (e.g., Balochi, Sindhi, Persian). Not a written language, Brahui is being displaced by neighbouring languages, and many of its speakers are already bilingual.
