Meaning of OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT in English

a British law that aims to prevent important government information from being passed to enemies. People who work for many government departments must ‘sign the Official Secrets Act’, i.e. sign a document saying that they will not discuss their work with anybody who has not also signed the Act. People who break this rule may be sent to prison.
