I . Henry Wood
(1869–1944)
an English conductor, best known for establishing the Proms . He was one of the greatest conductors of his time, and did much to improve the standard of music in Britain. He introduced the work of many new foreign composers, and allowed women to play in orchestras for the first time. He was made a knight in 1911.
II . Victoria Wood
(1953– )
an English comedy entertainer and writer. She has written and appeared in many British television programmes, and is well known for her intelligent humour and clever songs.
