Meaning of AQUIFER PERFORMANCE TEST (APT) in English

A test involving the withdrawal of measured quantities of water from, or addition of water to, a well and the measurement of resulting changes in head in the aquifer both during and after the period of discharge or addition. APT yields quantitative estimates of the capacity of the aquifer to store and produce water.
