Meaning of INITIAL WATER DEFICIENCY in English

The quantity, usually expressed in depth of water in inches on a unit area, by which the actual water content of a given soil zone (usually the Root Zone) is exceeded by the field capacity of that zone at the beginning of the rainy season. Also referred to as Initial Moisture Deficiency.
