(CMIS) Part of the OSI body of network standard s.
Network management information services are used by peer process es to exchange information and commands for the purpose of network management . CMIS defines a message set (GET, CANCEL-GET, SET, CREATE, DELETE, EVENT-REPORT and ACTION), and the structure and content of the messages such that they might be used by "open" systems. In concept, it is similar to SNMP , but more powerful (and hence more complex).
