I-MODE

Wireless communications standard proposed by NTT in Japan as an alternative to the more proprietary WAP standard. I-Mode receives heavy use from Japanese cell phone customers and allows content authors to leave their Web content in native HTML, rather than have to translate it to WML for use over WAP.
