RELATIVE COORDINATE

(n.) The coordinates relative to a coordinate system having its origin set at the initial position of a point selected on an object. This new coordinate system represents a transformation relative to the origin in absolute coordinate s. Relative coordinates provide the application with the flexibility to wait till the last minute for final placement of an object in device coordinates . Then, the location of the initial coordinate is established, and the remaining object coordinates are organized with respect to that coordinate.
