STOCK-RECRUITMENT RELATIONSHIP

The relationship between the level of parental biomass (e.g. spawning stock size) and subsequent recruitment level. Determination of this relationship is useful to identify the level of fishing beyond which stock collapse is likely. It is usually blurred by environmental variability and difficult to determine with any accuracy.
